Auditions - all new and returning members:
THE HUNTER SYMPHONY IS OPEN TO HUNTER STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS (NOT JUST MUSIC MAJORS) In Fall 2011 the regular rehearsal time is Wednesdays 6:10-8:40. From Spring 2012 it will be Mondays 6:10-8:40.
Audition requirements:
In the Fall semester, auditions are during the first class meeting time, and possibly the day before. All new and returning members need to audition, and sign up for specific times on the sign-up sheet, posted outside HN 420, opposite the music office, exactly one week before.
For the Spring semester, and members joining part-way through the semester, please contact the music director, below, to set up auditions as needed.
What to play:
Please play a piece you are comfortable with, and prepare two pages of the piece. If there is some contrast between high/low, fast/slow, and it shows different technical aspects, so much the better. It will be a solo audition, so no accompaniment is required.
